As suggested by William I’m going to use my personal facebook which has weekly active social signals through friends, groups etc.. Williams Facebook PDF suggested to run some fan page ads to warm up the account. Should I still do this even though my personal account is active?

No, you don’t need to do that. That’s more for brand new accounts that have been recently created.
It’s likely that when you start to run ads it will trigger a verification process. Then, you can just provide the information Facebook will request and your account will be reinstated in a day or two.
