Gaming on Facebook – Choosing an offer July 23, 2020 33 WILLIAM SOUZA OTS Case Studies This video will show you what factors I take into consideration when choosing an offer to run on Facebook.
Hey, I am new to all of this and it would be really helpful to show what to select or fill out in the various fields in the CPA networks when choosing an offer (or maybe even a PDF with screenshots of each step once selecting your first offer. The videos are super helpful but i find myself going back and forth between videos trying to see if any of these steps are mentioned). For example, what to do after clicking Build Tracking Link, and what to select in the Pixels/ Postback dropdown (or whether or not this is even necessary) – I am using MaxBounty and I don’t know if I Have to fill this out. Do I have to Save Postback?
Also, the tracking link I am building in the offer page, is this the “Link-Offer” I will be entering in SmartLenders for my landing page?
Thanks in advance.
@Yasiris – Thanks for your suggestion! I’ll have that done asap. Each network is different in that aspect, but the most important thing to keep in mind is that most of that is just for their own internal control. The affiliate link for any type of traffic should redirect to the same offer with the same payout. You just need a raw link, but some companies will still ask you to select a traffic category/type and a creative type. You can select the traffic type that’s more closely related to what you’ll be using. Normally, social (if running ads on Facebook or Instagram) or contextual (normally for contextual and native ads, but it will work for any traffic source, including FB and IG, too) are good choices. For the type of creative, if you don’t see a ‘raw link’ option, you can choose ‘text link’ or even a banner. Then, just copy the exact affiliate link and discard any additional code that comes with it. And, yes, that affiliate link that you’ll get from the network will be the link that you’ll be using in the “link-offer” field when setting up a landing page with Smart Landers 2.0. Finally, the postback URL is something you can get from your tracker (it’sa URL that the network will use to report conversionsto your tracker), but in the beginning you won’t be using a tracker and, therefore, won’t have one.
Thanks!!
AWESOME VIDEO MY FRIEND 🙂
Greg MN
Looks like a straight forward process to follow.
Howcome an offer would show one traffic source as M only, but then the offer description show not mobile optimized? See OGame SOI-Fr (Timestamp: 7:07 in the video). If I’m in the US leading traffic to a France offer, would I first need to take currency conversion into account when assessing the offer payout? Thanks.
@Kisha – Well observed! But that was probably a mistake that they made when registering the offer in their system. There are offers that allow mobile traffic and are not mobile optimized (they’re rare nowadays, but still exist), because if you can still get people to sign up from thei phones the leads will be valid (it’s harder to get the leads because the page won’t look nice on mobile). However, that’s not the case for mobile-only offers, so I’m sure that was a mistake when adding the offer to their system.
Do you address dealing with offers in other languages that you may not speak? For example, I only speak English but in the video, you were looking at some offers for France. How do you setup those so that you can have your ad copy and landing pages etc be translated properly?
@Paul – The best is to use an affordable human translation service such as onehourtranslation.com for your ad and landing page copy.
this is SOI but needs at least 250 coins. Should I go for it?
From MxBy
Get paid to play games, watch videos, and take surveys!
Fill out the GG2U sign up form and get at least 250 Coins on the GG2U website.
@Rajneesh – The best is always to start with simple offers, offers that don’t require a complex action. For this reason, SOI is slightly better than DOI, but DOI can be good as well. Offers like the one you mentioned, which require that people achieve a certain level using the service, can be more complex than DOI.
I am on MaxBounty. I am looking at a gaming offer and it reads “Gamehag.com – CPR + 500 gems collected (US) ID: 21388”
What does “gems collected” mean?
@Markus – It means that the conversion only occurs after the person plays the game and collects 500 gems. In the beginning, it’s better to focus on offers that convert upon a free sign up and don’t have that type of requirement.
I have a question: If network shows EPC=0,10 $. Does it mean that my own FB campaign cost must be lower than 0,10$ per lead to be profitable. Is it realistic?
Or my FB campaign cost must be less than the CPA value, to be profitable?
@Yonggang – The netowork EPC is a metric with very little relevance, because it incliudes results from all affiliates running the offer, and mostly are beginners or even clueless about what they’re doing (except if it’s a private network). Also, those affiliates may be using all kinds of traffic sources, including junk traffic from push platforms, for example. That type of traffic has a very low cost and also a very low conversion rate and will naturally push the network EPC down significantly. However, if you’ll be using a different type of traffic you may see completely different results. That’s not to mention different copy, angles, etc. So, don’t have the network EPC as an important metric in your decision process.
What do the letters for Traffic Sources mean and do you take that into account when selecting an offer?
@Lucy – I’m not sure on what you mean by letters for traffic sources. Can you, please, elaborate more?
@Support Staff – I pleave @Lucy means these: (W S E M E SM) Me as well need to know.
@Hashim – Those are letters for the tarffic sources that you can use for each offer. Most networks have letters or icons, but when you hover over them you can see the traffic source name such as “social”, “search PPC”, etc.
These videos are essential viewing for members starting out.
I believe what most of us want is a very very short intro of the ‘now we’ll be…’ type then straight into the meat of the video.
We want a stable page (the mouse moving from one to the next area not flipping around) that is easy to read as you speak.
We want to be told what everything on the page means and which things we should look at. So for example ‘look for single opt in offers to start with. You can see these have SOI next to them’. Now look at the payout here… you’ll need a payout of about…to be worth the effort and cost’ etc etc etc.
I find the videos jump about, you keep going over very general things but rarely point out details and keep telling us what you’re going to do. I just want to know THIS TOPIC then I can go to the next video to know what you look at next.
Please sort the navigation so it does not take several clicks to get to the next video.
Thanks
I’m super excited to be on this course and appreciate all you teach us.
@Joan – Thank you for the suggestions! We’ll include them in the next updates!
My only critique of the whole training package is that “the trainer has to think that he or she may be speaking to someone that is completely new”. So for the first or beginner level students you might want to explain some of the abbreviations or the phrases you are using to explain concepts. Like for me I had to google some of the terms used after the video to fully understand some of the phrases and or abbreviations used. It’s not a bad thing ,but just something to think about.
Hey guys. I’m looking at Buff Game Rewards as my first campaign. In the gaming niche. It’s EPC says $0.46. $1.85 per lead.
Its a software you download to then run games from.
They offer in-game rewards all the way through hardware for downloading it’s app and playing from it.
Researching it I found a few sketchy things people had to say. Even outright calling it a scam.
I know FB is strict. Do you have any feedback on this particular campaigns safety to run? It’s effectiveness? Anything in the form of advice for whether I should start my campaign with this offer?
Thanks!
@James – Just like in any other industry, CPA also has the good and bad guys. Of course, it’s possible to find people calling anyone or any company a scammer (it’s the internet :/), but if you find out that it is indeed not a good offer, it’s better to stay away from it. Not necessarily because Facebook would cause problems, but because there are many good offers to promote and there’s no reason for us to push shady offers. Also, if the offer is for the US or another 1st-tier country, $1.85 is too low. $2.25+ should be your minimum payout.
@Support Staff thanks so much for the timely reply!
Perhaps Gaming isn’t the best niche for me right now? At least on Max Bounty.
Because searching, there are only 3 results for offers that are SOI and in the US.
2 of them have a CPA Rate less than $2.25. (One is $1.85. The other, $1.00).
The third, says 80% of Sale..with an EPC of 3 cents.
Canada gives three results as well, with stats even lower.
Any advise?
Many thanks again for addressing my questions so thoroughly. You’re awesome! I hope I’m not bombarding you with too many..just at the stage of ready to run the 1st..and wanna do it the best, most researched way possible.
So I found something in the Free Stuff niche’ on Max Bounty:
$1000 PayPal Cash – CONSUMERSCONNECT
Description:
An excellent offer for Paypal users – a chance to win $1000. The convenience of Paypal with a significant cash bonus could attract many in your audience.
Offer converts on single opt-in.
Target audience: Age 18-65, online shoppers, freelancers, small business owners, and individuals who frequently use Paypal for transactions.
Looking it up, I couldn’t find anything on google..good thing being I didn’t find any alerts of a scam.
This one is an SOI.
US based.
It’s EPC is 25 cents with a CPA rate of $2.50.
It says I’m approved and also has an alert to “Build A Tracking Link”.
I don’t think the other one I looked at had that.
It may be something you’ve covered in the modules that I’ve watched that I have to reacquaint myself with.
Does this sound like a good one to get started with?
Thanks!
@James – MaxBounty has a great collection of email submits, surveys and other freebie offers. But they have few gaming offers. So, yes, it may be better that you start with a different niche and promote gaming offers when you join other networks.
@James – Yes, the offer you mentioned can be a good fit. If you send me a message in the support section, I’ll be glad to assist you with setting up your first campaign!
@James – MaxBounty also assigns an Affiliate Manager that you could ask questions about their offers.
@Support Staff and @Derrick Howell thanks a million!
@Support Staff I’m about to send you a message right now. Thank you!
Hiya , I am absolute new here, How can I go to find authors?
@Zsolt – You mean offers that you can promote? If yes, you can join CPA networks and browse their offers. There’s a lesson on how to do it here: https://cpaevolution3.com/members-area/task-joining-cpa-networks/
